TRAPEZOIDAL EXTENSION
An extension of a 14 year-old house in a village outside Cambridge. The project involved the conversion of a rather poorly built existing garage into a home office and sleeping annexe, and the extension and refurbishment of the main house to include a new kitchen and an enlarged living room a the side. The client was keen to create something contemporary that would add height and a bit of ‘architecture’ to the building. This gave us the opportunity to explore the possibilities of the trapezoidal plot as defined by the boundaries of the site and how we might clad the walls and roof in the same material.
